Fresh leaf lettuce and caesar dressing

For years, I have searched for the perfect store-bought caesar dressing.  For years, the search has been in vain.

Until tonight.

I have found caesar heaven by attempting my own, armed with a Betty Crocker and a bottle of olive oil.

My only complaint is that it is not white and creamy like restaurant caesar.  However, the dressing is super garlicky and easy to make.  I’ll never buy store-bought again!

Homemade Caesar Dressing

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic (or in a pinch, garlic powder)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground, dry mustard
  • sugar to taste, if needed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Mix all together, whisking until blended well.  Toss dressing with lettuce, preferably romaine.  Add parmesan, bacon bits, croutons, as you see fit.  (I prefer no bacon bits.)  I sometimes like shredded mozzarella too.

Nutritional Information

May cause intimacy issues, especially if used on first date.

While romaine is the caesar salad favourite, fresh green leaf lettuce out of the garden is a good choice too.
